brief history; Mu Shen comes from a long line of Daoist priests back in Shanghai, and for a long time, he too was set on becoming one. His father taught him and his brother the ways of the five-pointed star, the yin-yang symbol, exorcism, and other things. Mu Shen becames killed with the earth point of the star, and became an accomplished geomancer within his family.

But when his fiancé, Liu Rong, suffered a terrible stroke the day before he became a priest, Mu Shen lost the will to become one. Though his brother and mother were understanding and supportive in the troubled days that followed, his father was more than annoyed at his son's hasty decision. To prevent further conflict within the family, Mu Shen left Shanghai with the clothes on his back and the family sword Xing Ji.

Mu Shen spent the next year drifting across the Chinese coast, never spending too long in any particular place, trying to find peace with himself and the horrible dreams he had at night. After receiving the mysterious emails, Mu Shen is currently en route to Beijing in search of this elusive "destiny".

personality; Despite his cold and indifferent disposition, Mu Shen is a loyal and honest person. Though he is not the most optimistic person in the world, he has a firm grip on reality and can serve as a voice of reason when needed. He has a tendency to make wry and witty remarks occassionally, and is quite contemplative.
